There's a Laurie Berkner song that the lentil loves. Well, he loves almost all of her songs, but this one is on his top five greatest Laurie Berkner Hits list for this week. It's about people and the animals they have on their heads. We listen to the song on the car stereo, because kid music is so much better to drive to than kid screaming. We listen over, and over, and over. But it's not bad, because listening to the song means I get to hear my little prodigy sing along. He has favorite parts to his songs, and often these are the parts where Laurie holds out a note for an extra long time, or holds out and changes pitch midway, or even better- holds out, changes pitch, then ends with an animal sound: "dinosauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrr. Rrrar!"
Yesterday we were listening to the most favorite song of all this week, and he interrupted his singing along to tell me, "Mommy. Mommy." (This is to get my attention.) "When I grow up I want an elephant on my head."
"Oh, really? An elephant?"
"Yes, and finny will have an, an, an, an," (thinking here)" an elephant on his head too!" pause. "And we'll say Moooooooo!"
This is second in preciousness only to his pronouncement of a few months back wherein he declared "When I grow up I want to be a singer guy with a guitar."
