The lentil is cutting his two year molars and apparently it's not much fun. He has his hand in his mouth constantly, with a little line of drool slipping down his chin. He is clingy and whiney and spends a lot of time getting really mad at the world for nothing. Maybe he's not teething, maybe he's just his mother's son.
I was telling a story the other day about the first time sweets saw the lentil make a poop face. The straining, the redness- it was a little alarming. Sweets looked over at me and said in a rather accusatory tone, "He gets that from YOUR side of the family."
Sadly, I have to agree.
He's been going to daycare all this week, and he's loving every second of it. Yesterday he was so completely grubby and filthy, I knew it had been a great day. Of course, last night was the office party for the study I work with, and I had planned to take him with me. When we arrived the lentil was a mess- his hair was stringy and sticking together like someone had poured dusty hand cream all over it, his face was covered in cheese-flavored goodness, and his hands were brown and spotchy from pulling weeds at the daycare. Yes- they put them to work there. What else would you expect from a cooperative?
But he managed to rally and recovered his cuteness enough to charm a few other party goers. He decided that it would be a good time to play "saran wrap"- his favorite game lately. In this game he wraps himself around my body in whatever way is most inconvenient to me, and then he wiggles around like an octopus trying to get comfortable. It's loads of fun. no, really. I mean it. riiiiight.
