We're in New Mexico now, and the lentil is adjusting so well. He loves to be outside at our new house, which I love. Whenever he has the chance, he's outside exploring the property. He loves to look at cacti, and is always quick to remind everyone that they are not to touch the plants. He hasn't quite figured out yuccas yet, but a few pokes and he'll get it soon enough. He is also having a great time playing with his aunt Lozen, and follows her everywhere.
His granny was kind enough to bring him to New Mexico for us, and we had a wonderful 48 hours playing and showing off our beloved state. The lentil was keen on showing her a new cactus he'd found on the other side of the arroyo from the house. He loves that cactus.
The morning that sweets took granny to the airport, I had the lentil back at the house. We were wandering around by the sculptures looking at cacti, when a plane flew over head. I asked the lentil if that was the plane taking granny back to Providence. He looked up at the plane, waved, and called out:
"Good-bye, Granny! Have a good vacation!" and then he paused for a brief moment, and yelled "button your lip, potato chip!"
We miss granny already. It will be good to see her again in October.
We've also been getting postcards from grandma sally, and the lentil loves that. He gets more mail than anyone else! Thanks for the notes, grandma sally!
