I'm convinced the lentil is a genius. seriously- he's amazing! This evening we were playing with those foam letters you stick on the side of the bathtub and I learned that he knows every letter of the alphabet. And he knows how to spell "ox." Then he got out of the shower and started singing songs in chinese while I got his toothbrush ready.
He's brilliant.
Today was the pet parade, and we took the lentil. He loved every second of it. As the different people passed by in their costumes he called out all the special things that caught his eye. "There a clown!" "there's a bumblebee!" "Look at the hermit crab!" (there was a kid walking the parade route and holding a little live hermit crab. it was super cool!) He was also keeping track of different things- there were several groups dressed as the gang from Wizard of Oz. He observed that none of them had the cowardly lion, and he was bothered by that. because he's brilliant.
Montessori is a good thing for our little boy. He's so excited to be learning his alphabet and the phonics lessons are the one thing that follow him home. They make hand gestures for each letter, and there's a name for each letter, and every time he comes across a letter we get to do the gesture and talk about the charater. "Nigel Nightowl!" "Olive Octopus!" It's so cool to see him suck up this stuff.
And he knows how to spell "ox." that's about the coolest.
